Radiohead Annouince Dates for Upcoming Tour

RADIOHEAD has confirmed the dates and venues to be visited on the first segment of its upcoming North American tour. They are:

May 5 - Cruzan Amphitheatre - West Palm Beach, Florida
May 6 - Ford Amphitheatre - Tampa, Florida
May 8 - Lakewood Amphitheatre - Atlanta, Georgia
May 9 - Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre - Charlotte, North Carolina
May 11 - Nissan Pavilion at Stone Ridge - Bristow, Virginia
May 14 - Verizon Wireless Amphitheater - St Louis, Missouri
May 17 - Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - Houston, Texas
May 18 - Superpages.com Center - Dallas, Texas

Pre-sale for the above dates will begin February 14 via W.A.S.T.E. with general on-sales following on February 16.

The second half of the North American tour will follow the band's summer tour of the UK and Europe.

Radiohead #1 on Billboard Charts + North American Tour Update

Radiohead's physical version of 'In Rainbows' top the Billboard Charts this week beating out Mary J Blige's "Growing Pains" selling around 122,000. The sales do not reflect the sales made during the 'Name Your Own Price' download sale that was done weeks before. For reference 2003's 'Hail to the Thief' sold over 300,000 copies and was atop the charts as well.

In other Radiohead news, the band is set to embark on a 2008 Summer North American tour following their European stint which ends in Berlin on July 8th. And while actual dates are TBA, we have the city destinations. They are:

Super Music Tuesday with Radiohead's 'In Rainbows'

Its 2008's First Super Music Tuesday! The year kicks with only one major release. Radiohead's critically acclaimed 'In Rainbows' enjoying its long awaited physical release today! You may recall that Radiohead was released from its contractual obligations in 2007 and signed with a pair of indie labels to distribute its new record. The band is planning to tour in 08 in which dates should be announced in the coming weeks. Happy New Year and Happy Super Music Tuesday!

Among them some of my favorites of the year including The White Stripes' 'Icky Thump', Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's Baby 81, Radiohead's 'In Rainbows', The Hives 'The Black and White Album', Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black', and more.

New Radiohead 'In Rainbows' album due December 31

Radiohead's new record, 'In Rainbows' is set to hit store shelves just in time for New Years. In fact 'In Rainbows' will mark its hard copy debut on New Years Eve, December 31st.

You may remember the album was exclusively sold previously via their website Radioheadstore.com and you the consumer could name your own price. Recently it was found that over 50% of the people whom obtain the album didn't fork over a dime. And the average of the rest was a mere $6. I think the album judging the way the music world is reacting is worth a whole lot more than $6. We the music fan need to let them know that.

A possible tour is also in the works and we will post if we find out more information on that front.

Radiohead Close to Signing a New Deal with Indie Label

Radiohead are close to signing deals with a pair of independent labels to distribute the physical version of their In Rainbows album, which they released on the Net themselves earlier this month. According to an article published Tuesday in The New York Times, the band is planning to sign with Coran Capshaw's Side One Recordings to distribute Rainbows domestically, and XL Recordings (which released Thom Yorke's solo album, The Eraser, last year) internationally. Capshaw manages the Dave Matthews Band through his company, Red Light, and co-founded ATO Records — home to acts like My Morning Jacket and Ben Kweller — with Matthews in 2000. Side One is his newest endeavor, operating under the Red Light/ ATO umbrella. Until recently, ATO had a distribution deal with Sony BMG, but it now distributes its music independently, through RED distribution. When contacted for comment, Radiohead's U.S. publicist, Steve Martin, told MTV News he could "neither confirm nor deny" the Times story, and a spokesperson for Red Light had no comment. ...

Team Sleep Give Away FREE Eps!

Team Sleep, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno's side project, will release a series of EPs online for free download over the next year, along with videos and other visual extras. "We want to give our fans new music while they are waiting for our next full-length, which we have started writing for," Moreno said in a statement. The band has scheduled a series of headlining shows, beginning November 29 in Orangevale, California, and continuing through December 16 in San Francisco.

Portishead finish up new album

Portishead's Geoff Barrow has announced that the band is one day away from completing their third full-length album.
In a posting today (October 23) on the band's website, Barrow wrote that the band have been in London finishing up the long-awaited follow-up to their 1997 self-titled album.
"I think one more day messing about with it and it will be done. Then into the wonderful world of mastering," he wrote.
Barrow added that the band are now "working on some art work and getting the live stuff together."
He also said that the band are preparing for All Tomorrow's Parties, where he may put together a football team with co-headliner Madlib.
All Tomorrow's Parties is set to take place December 7-9 at Butlins Holiday Centre in Minehead, England.

As some of you may or not know by now, a new Nitzer Ebb song is on the Saw IV soundtrack (first track I might add)!!!

Al Jorgenson of Ministry comments on the recent passing of Ministry/Killing Joke Bassist Paul Raven:

"I am in total shock. The world of music is a sadder, emptier place. Not only was Raven an extraordinary talent, but one of my closest dearest friends. Our condolences and prayers go to his immediate family. He will be truly missed by artists, musicians and his fans the world over.

The one consolation is knowing Raven's already hooked up with the right people and started a new project in the After Life. Godspeed, Raven. Rest In Peace, you fucking pirate."

Radiohead touring in 2008

According to their management, Radiohead is set to embark on on a sporadically dated 2008 tour that will last till the end of the year. Radiohead's manager was quoted as saying:

"We plan to tour next year," he said. "Starting in May through to probably the end of the year, with lots of holidays in that period.

"At the moment we are talking with our agents in North America and for the rest of the world, trying to get a schedule which works for the band and works financially."
