Today marked the 10th Anniversary for Yahoo Mail! Back in its inception it was known as Rocket Mail back in 1997 with a whopping 3MB of space. This past March 07 Yahoo decided to throw out the size limitations and let users absorbed as much mail as one wants. One interesting note from the Official Yahoo Blog:
It’s funny to reflect that when Rocketmail first started, many users chose to list their email addresses in a public directory because they wanted everyone to know how to contact them. Fast-forward to a world where we invest a huge amount of time and diligence protecting our users from spam (now estimated to represent more than 70% of all email) and phishing attacks.Happy Birthday Yahoo Mail! You won't see me posting my Yahoo email here.
